What is Designer Dog Rescue Sponsorship?
Sponsors give $25 a month or more to help us look after dogs in our rescue while we find them permanent homes with loving new owners.
What does my sponsorship money buy?
Your donation goes towards helping all the dogs in our care, not just the one you have picked. Your generous donations will help fund everyday items, like beds, food, exercise and toys. Your monthly gift means we can ensure pets are vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, neutered and receive any other veterinary treatment they need. Plus, your donations will help fund tailor made training and behavior support for pets who haven’t had the best start to life and need extra TLC to help get them ready for their new homes.
What makes Designer Dog Rescue sponsorship different?
As a Designer Dog Rescue sponsor, you are helping unwanted and abandoned cats and dogs in our foster homes to find happy new forever homes. It may take days, weeks or months to adopt out a dog, so you may sponsor many different pets along the way.
What’s really exciting is that you get the chance to help many dogs – rather than just one. We’ll also keep you updated every step of the way with monthly emails, so you’ll be one of the first to know when they’re adopted!
Will I receive anything in the mail?
You will get regular emails and downloadable fact sheets and certificates, which means that more of your money goes to the pets you love.
It seems as if I get a new pet nearly every month. Why?
This is because your sponsored dog have been adopted – after all, it’s what we’re here for. We believe every dog deserves a healthy life in a happy home and we do all we can to make this happen in as short a time as possible. If you are getting a new dog every month it’s good news – it means we are managing to find new homes for more dogs who desperately need them.
You may also find that some dogs will take longer to find their forever home. This could be because they have health or behavioral problems which we need to help them through before they are adopted, or it may be that they are simply being overlooked because they are a less popular breed, like a Staffordshire bull terrier, or are a little bit older. Finding homes for some dogs may only take a few weeks but others need more care and attention before they are ready to leave us.
Will anyone else sponsor my pet?
People can choose to sponsor the same dog as you – some can be very popular.
What do sponsors receive?
You will get an email with a photograph, message from your pet and a certificate which you can download and print. You’ll receive regular news by email about what your pet has been up to, including whether he or she has been adopted.
What happens when my sponsored pet is adopted?
That’s great news! It means another healthy dog has found a loving new home. We will let you know by email, and tell you all about your new sponsored dog. We will automatically choose this dog for you, but the email will include a link to all our dogs who need sponsors – so if you’d like to choose a different one, you can.
Can I visit my sponsored pet?
No. This is a new venture for us. If it’s a real success (which we hope it is) there could be lots of people wanting to visit their sponsored dogs so we need to make sure we are able to cope with the demand. Also, some dogs are not able to accept visitors because they are distressed, need training or more socialization. If your sponsored dog goes to any mobile adoption events, you are more than welcome to home and hang out with him or her.
How does sponsorship work?
Choose the dog you’d like to sponsor. Read all about the dog, click the ‘sponsor’ button, fill in all your details and set up your regular gift from $25 a month by PayPal. You’ll get a confirmation email and a welcome email – with a certificate and pet profile you can download and print.
When does my sponsorship end?
Your sponsorship continues helping dog after dog, as long as your direct debit remains active. We hope you won’t, but if you are thinking of cancelling please email us email@example.com
Can I sponsor more than one dog?
There is no limit on the number of dogs you can sponsor but you will need to set up a separate Direct Debit for each one.
Can I sponsor a dog as a gift for someone else?
This something we hope to be able to offer in future.
